Mesotherapy is a technique widely used in cosmetic dermatology and aesthetic treatment. The term is derived from the Latin words meso (middle) and therapy (treatment), meaning "middle-skin treatment."
In mesotherapy, various vitamins, minerals, enzymes and amino acids are injected into the middle layer of the skin. The aim is to regulate blood and lymph circulation and resolve localized problems.
The substances used and the way the treatment is applied are tailored to the person’s wishes and concerns.
What Is Mesotherapy Used For?
Different medication mixtures are used depending on the need, evaluated according to the problem area. These mixtures may be used alone or combined from different substances.
Delivering these substances into the skin stimulates the elastin and collagen structures beneath it. This regulates circulation in the area, and the immune system responds by renewing the skin.
Human skin continues to renew itself up to a certain age, producing the vitamins and minerals it needs on its own. After a certain age, however, this renewal slows down and certain skin problems begin to appear. Mesotherapy reintroduces these fundamental building-block substances to the skin.
When Is Mesotherapy Applied?
Mesotherapy is generally suitable for everyone, and its aim is to address visually bothersome, age-related problems. However, it is not generally recommended for individuals under 20. It is commonly used for:
- Sun spots
- Skin wrinkles and sagging
- Under-eye bags, fine lines around the eyes
- Stretch marks and cellulite
- Weight loss
- Hair loss and baldness
- Sports injuries
- Allergies
- Skin pigment insufficiency
- Fibromyalgia
- Chronic and acute pain
- Rheumatic and vascular conditions
